This is an in-person position at our Los Angeles location.
Frame48 (frame48.com) is a 3D motion design studio. We produce animated content for industry-leading brands and agencies. Located in Culver City, our facilities are home to artists and creatives at the forefront of design and graphics technology.
We are seeking a junior compositor to apprentice under our compositing lead on all 3D animated content. This position will work closely with VFX supervisors in creating, organizing, and managing the compositing pipeline. This role emphasizes both the artistic and technical aspects of compositing, with a strong focus on render layers, CG elements, and other visual components.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation of high-quality compositing work for visual effects and animation projects using Nuke.
- Collaborate with VFX supervisors and other team members to integrate CGI and other external elements.
- Perform tasks such as rotoscoping, keying, tracking, and color correction to ensure seamless integration of materials.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure that all composites meet the artistic and technical standards of the project.
- Work within project deadlines and efficiently manage time to meet production schedules.
- Troubleshoot and solve compositing challenges, providing creative and technical solutions.
- Follow established workflows and file management protocols to maintain organized project files.
- Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and techniques to continuously improve skills and contribute to the team's overall growth.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Nuke is essential, with a moderate understanding of compositing tools and 3D render layers.
- Basic knowledge of other compositing and VFX software such as After Effects, Photoshop, and 3D software is a plus.
- Strong eye for detail, color, and composition, with the ability to match the aesthetic and style of different projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a passion for visual effects and animation.
